“Patience is a Virtue”

I was reminded today not to be impatient with my bowling. It’s true. And I see it with my bowling kids in the juniors program. Success without hard work is hollow and not long lasting. I had been getting impatient with my bowling, rushing it, and asking for too much attention and it was getting ugly. I know why. This winter weather, the darkness, and our busy lives.

So I was reminded today that it’s the journey, not the destination. As I look back when I started in 2019, I’ve learned a lot of techniques and my average has sky rocketed. Last year was 165, came down a little this year to 145, and I brought it back up slowly to 155. Also, when I see the kids play, I see the emotion that goes thru learning as well. More than half the battle in bowling, like any sport, is the mental game. Once you learn the rules and know how to play, then it becomes on you to play well. Also, new players can rock the boat and depending on the attitudes, encourage others to bowl better with the new competition. Or in other words, re-state “This is my House!”

As a side, working on getting my interviews going. Everybody has their story. You have one too. I’m grateful for those who have been a part of mine and my success.  First is my first coach, Dave Umbrello, then Gerard Richardson, then Chris Monroy. Those and more to come…
